What dental services do you offer?
We provide comprehensive dental services in Kernersville, NC. Our treatments and services include preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry to ensure our patients have healthy teeth and gums.
Do you accept insurance?
We are not currently in-network with any dental insurance companies. However, as a courtesy, we will file insurance claims for patients. In addition, payment plans or arrangements can be made ahead of time to make sure your services fit your budget.
How often should I visit the dentist?
Dental appointments are usually scheduled twice per year or every six months. This ensures plaque and bacteria do not have a lengthy period to build up and cause problems. Any issues that do appear can be swiftly addressed before more severe, and potentially costly, measures are needed.
What happens during a dental exam?
During routine exams, your teeth are examined, cleaned, and polished using special dental tools. X-rays and fluoride treatments may also be performed. Your teeth, gums, and jaw are checked for signs of any underlying issues.
Why do I need to see a dentist?
Even if your teeth look beautiful and white, that doesn’t mean a problem isn’t lurking. Signs of gum disease or decay can be quietly hiding behind a beautiful smile. Regular appointments allow your dentist to prevent problems and to stay on top of new issues.
A dental implant is a post that replaces a missing tooth root. The implant is positioned in the jaw and attached to a dental crown or restoration. As a permanent, durable tooth replacement option, this restoration fulfills the role of a natural tooth in both function and appearance. Dental implants are secure and long-lasting with good oral care. At Kernersville Family Dentistry, we do not place dental implants, but we restore them to make sure they remain strong and healthy. This includes restoring implant-retained crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Dental problems can occur anytime anywhere. Whether you are eating a piece of hard candy or experience trauma at a sporting event, emergencies happen on their own time. If you experience tooth pain or an oral injury, stay calm. Contact our office immediately for an appointment and directions on how to care for your mouth until you get to the practice.
Brush your teeth twice per day, morning and night, for two minutes per brushing session. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and hold it at a 45-degree angle to your gums. Do not press hard on the gums or you risk damaging the delicate tissues. Be sure to replace your toothbrush or brush head every 4-6 months to avoid using damaged bristles which are less effective. After brushing, floss your teeth once per day to remove food particles from between the teeth.
Aside from maintaining good oral habits at home, visiting your dentist regularly is an important step in keeping your smile bright. If you are looking for smile enhancements, consider a smile makeover. Smile makeovers may include a single cosmetic treatment or a combination to achieve your goal. If you are ready to transform your smile, schedule a consultation to determine the best treatment for your needs.
